Siedah Garrett Performs “The New Frontier (Say Their Names)” Live at Agape International
Siedah Garrett performs “The New Frontier (Say Their Names)” live at Agape International Spiritual Center’s Sunday Service on June 28, 2020. The song “The New Frontier” was first written in 2015 by Siedah with Michael “Fish” Herring, former guitarist for Prince, to speak to the murders of innocent and unarmed black males, including Trayvon Martin and Freddie Gray. After being moved to tears by the video of George Floyd’s brutal killing, Siedah decided to re-write the verses to include Floyd, and Breonna Taylor, and to add the sub-title “Say Their Names”, as a reminder that these statistical deaths represent real human beings who should matter to us all.
